The Chicago River is home to both a lot of carp and a lot of monster carp! This downtown section of the Chicago River (between Columbus and Lake Shore Drive) is a great carp fishing location. Open to the public, no fees, no pegs - simply sign in and find your spot. Move around if you wish. First, second and third place prizes for adults and Zebco 33 Rod & Reel combos for first – third place kids (age 15 and under). Paul Wells won first place in 2007 with 107.5 pounds of carp.
