Chicago River Fishing Festival

and Lower East Wacker Drive

Expanded this year to run Monday – Friday, starting June 21 through August 20, 2010. 9:00am – 3:00pm.
Sponsored by Mayor Daley’s Fish`N Kids program of the Chicago Park District, South Bend Tackle Company, Basa’s Marine of Bolingbrook and Mayor Daley’s Fishing Advisory Committee (Mayor’s Office of Special Events).
Rods, reels, bait and instructors will be provided. No fishing license is required at this location on these days and times. Children, aged 12 and under, have an opportunity to win a new spincast rod and reel combo via the South Bend Tackle Company contest. Participants must be at least 44" tall.
Boat rides on the Chicago River, courtesy of Basa’s Marine, will also be available Monday through Friday, August 9th through August 20th.
Go to lake shore drive (coming south into city, or from the north)
Exit at Randolph
Turn onto Randolph St (West). Whether you turn left or right you are heading West.
Go to the light which will be Columbus Drive.
Turn right onto Columbus Drive (North).
Go to the second light which is South Water Street. The street sign in on the roof of the street above you.
South Water Street has three lanes. East bound, West Bound and Center (going down ramp)
Turn left (West) into the center lane on South Water, going down ramp.
At the bottom of the hill is a stop sign. This is Stetson.
Turn right (North) onto Stetson. Go to next stop sign. This is Lower Lower Wacker Drive.
Turn right onto Lower Lower Wacker Drive (East). Go to the next street.
This is Lower Lower Wacker and Columbus Drive, Riverwalk level.
On the north-east corner there is a big opening in the fence. You will also see cars packed on the north side of the street with orange cones set up in the street. That is our location.
